Meet your FIT4MOM Team!

Our team has been growing to better serve our amazing community of moms. We wanted to introduce our newest instructors as well as let you get to know some familiar faces better!

Rachel Wagner- Owner, FIT4MOM Baltimore City

Children's names and ages: Audrey, almost 4. Violet 19m

What is your favorite part of FIT4MOM classes? I love watching moms realize all that they are capable of, physically and mentally!

Where do you get inspiration for classes that you teach? Everywhere! I love getting ideas from other FIT4MOM instructors nationwide, but I also love turning random fun experiences into class themes or stations. Whether it's a new kids' song I learned, a book I've read with my girls, a game I've recently played, or a new exercise idea that's popped into my head, I love the freedom to put it all together in a creative and fun way.

If you could teach a class at any location in the world, where would it be? What a question! The beauty of our classes is that they can really be taught anywhere, and every location's unique environment allows you to use it in different ways. I am always jealous of our FIT4MOM sisters in Hawaii, though! So, if I had to pick, take me to a beach park in The Aloha State!

Heather Macey- FIT4MOM Certified Fit4Baby, Stroller Strides, and Body Back Instructor

Children's names and ages: Owen 2.5, Ruby 3 weeks

What is your favorite part of FIT4MOM classes? My favorite part of FIT4MOM classes is being able to provide the opportunity for moms to get out and be around other moms (to socialize) while getting in exercise; all while setting a good example for their little ones for having a healthy lifestyle. I also like being able to challenge moms to accomplish things they didn't think they were capable of doing when it comes to fitness and exercise. It is always rewarding when a mom sees the growth she has made from when she first started classes or when you see a child trying to do some of the exercises after class!

Where do you get inspiration for classes that you teach? I get my inspiration from my own personal workouts, Pinterest/internet, or the FIT4MOM resource area (where instructors share ideas). I draw more on my yoga background for the meditation portion of Body Back classes I also teach.

If you could teach a class at any location in the world, where would it be? If I could teach anywhere in the world it would be in a tropical setting. I love the beach so being able to have that in the backdrop (and maybe even using the challenge of sand in the workouts) would be amazing.

Laura Griffin Foglia- FIT4MOM Certified Fit4Baby and Stroller Strides Instructor

Children's names and ages: Eli is 4.5 years old. Cecilia is 21 months.

What is your favorite part of FIT4MOM classes? If I'm working out, then its definitely the feeling after class that I've just given it all I've got. Most of the time, I love a good challenge and can get secretly competitive with myself. When I'm teaching, I want folks to have that same feeling of pride after meeting or exceeding their expectations. I try to encourage everyone to keep going because sometimes we don't realize our own strength until its pointed out to us! However, I'm also a total goof ball and love making Mamas laugh or smile throughout their workout. Most of all, I want Mamas to know how amazing and important they are!

Where do you get inspiration for classes that you teach? The FIT4MOM instructor network is amazing! I have a few favorite teachers from CA, VA, and NC that I try to check in with and see what they are doing in their classes! YouTube is also a resource I use when I'm looking for combos of exercises that might go well together at a station. I also teach yoga and get inspired through my own practice and try to come to as many FIT4MOM classes as my schedule allows!

If you could teach a class at any location in the world, where would it be? For Stroller Strides, it would probably be Disney World. Our kids would be totally entertained and there are so many places to anchor bands!! For Fit4Baby, I'd love to teach in an outdoor space by a lake with access to pristine bathrooms and water fountains. We could have a great workout surrounded by the beauty of nature!

Pamela Savage- FIT4MOM Certified Fit4Baby and Stroller Strides Instructor

Children's name and ages: Ray Savage (2) and Buddy Savage (3.5... and a dog).

What is your favorite part of FIT4MOM classes? My favorite part of Stroller Strides class is the END - haha! But joking aside, those three deep breaths and a smile are a wonderful time to take a pause and reflect on all the things my body and I accomplished in the last hour and a half (I'm including getting out the door as an accomplishment!) Plus, after class ends it is playtime! I love the baby/toddler playgroup and mommy socialization aspects of class.

Where do you get inspiration for classes that you teach? Since I'm newer to teaching Stroller Strides, I'm inspired largely by all of my other co-instructors! I am not a "fitness person" by trade, so I've learned a lot through watching their cues, energy, and modeling of different exercises.

If you could teach a class at any location in the world, where would it be? Anywhere in THE WORLD? Wow. That's a tough one. I haven't been to any of the National Parks out West, but I've always wanted to head out that way to explore. Stroller Strides field trip?

In the craziness that is motherhood and business ownership -- and all those other parts of life as I know it -- sometimes I like to sit back, quiet my mind, and just remember what brought me to this crazy beautiful happy place. I remember when I tried my first class and made my first neighborhood mom friends. When I first met the mom down the street who would later become my business partner. I remember the moms who came, who saw, who conquered; those who have been with me since the start and those who have moved away. All that remembering leads me right back to today. I thought I'd share some of these moments through pictures and a little story-telling.
