Position Available: Run Club Coach

Start Date: Late July/Early August 2017

Time Commitment: Saturday or Sunday mornings 7:30am; year-round or in 12-week seasonal sessions (open to discussion)

General Description: Run Club coaches train women in all stages of motherhood and allow them the chance to increase their endurance and/or speed in a supportive and inspiring environment. Our Run Club coach will continue to lead our established programs to train moms for 10K and half marathon races, and we may also be looking to expand upon those offerings with an enthusiastic coach ready to lead the way.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Devise training plans for various distances and plan race routes for scheduled group runs according to those plans.

  • Provide Run Club members with safety tips, best practices, motivation, and inspiration in person and via our online community.

  • Assist with marketing responsibilities and help to recruit new members.

  • Instructor would be responsible for acquiring and maintaining necessary FIT4MOM fitness instructor certifications, CPR and First Aid certifications, and liability insurance.

  • Potential to teach Fit4Baby, Stroller Strides, Stroller Barre, Body Back, or other FIT4MOM programs in the future.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Passion for fitness, wellness, and motherhood required.

  • Experience with race training as a group leader or as a self-motivated individual is required. Tell us about your running background.

  • Highly qualified candidates will be motivated, social, and personable.

  • Must be comfortable approaching potential members and marketing the programs.

  • Must have reliable transportation.

  • Must be willing to hold training runs in most weather conditions.

  • Availability must include Saturday or Sunday mornings 7:30-9:30am for our 12-week seasonal sessions.

  • You do not have to be a mother to be a coach, but strong candidates will be very familiar with the needs of women in all stages of motherhood.

Meet Morgan! She's our first Mom of the Month from our Body Back classes, though she also attended Stroller Strides while on maternity leave. Even though this interview was our initial meeting, she impressed me with her calm and poise. It was also pretty fun to do an interview with someone in non-workout clothes at a bar! We met at 1157 Bar and Kitchen for a drink and enjoyable mommy conversation!
